MineCraft is an open world environment that allows players to adventure, as well as, create. Many different control and stochastic experiments can be created in the MineCraft world, which is why it is becoming very popular in the Artificial Intelligence community. We make use of the project malmo platform developed by Microsoft to interface with MineCraft and run our experiments.
This effort started early on during my PhD study, but had to be put on hold. It is my hope to revisit this work when I am able, given the many open research problems that can be explored by using the Minecraft environment (i.e., multi-goal reinforcement learning). The intent of this work was to build a series of increasingly complex scenarios (“episodes”) in Mincecraft and open source the code/videos with the broader community.
